Call | Category | Comments | KV4ZY | Single Op All | Casual operating just for fun | KX7L | Single Op All | Could be my imagination, but activity seemed down from usual levels. I wonder if some folks *assume* that with the demise of CQ magazine, that their namesake contests are gone too? Anyway not much Es to hear, but for a few 30 second openings to here and there, not long enough for a QSO. The highlight for me was working AL1VE down in DN02. A new grid for me and probably one of my longest tropo contacts | KZ2I | Single Op 6M | All i can say is 'ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!' Wishing and hoping and praying for some prop, but to to avail. Fit perfectly with the lousy 6m season this year | LY5W | Single Op 6M | Band not opened | N1ADX | Single Op 6M | portable at my summer cabin in Vermont | N2HX | Single Op 6M | had fun band never open up slow going thanks to Dave K1TTT for the use of his station | N4IW | Single Op 6M | I had not planned to do this contest but popped on to see if there was any 6 meter action. There was a little bit of FT8 that I could hear. I am not set up here for VHF having only my HF Antenna that will tune up on 6 meters but certainly isn?t very good for it. N2QT and NN4RB were the only locals I heard and worked. Maybe one day I?ll put something better up in the sky | N7EPD | Single Op All | Low turnout and NO sporadic E. Low score! | N8KH | Single Op 6M | Missed opening at beginning of contest due to late start. Poor conditions this year. My worst ever score | N9TF | Single Op 6M | Very little time to operate this weekend. Popped in and out of the shack Sunday totaling about 2 hours of chair time. 6m never opened at the times I broke free to the shack. So worked hard at making Qs with multi path fading signals! Antenna is still just a 3 element Cushcraft at about 18' above ground, propped up behind the shed about 120' from the shack. Still no rotor, so always making trips out to the shed to give the mast a turn by hand. One of these days I'll get this antenna up a bit higher with a rotor! 73 Gene, N9TF Clarksville TN. EM66IJ | NE1B | Single Op 6M | Terrible conditions. No Multi-hop. No new grids | NE6I | Single Op 6M | Conditions were horrible. I only worked two non-locals | OK1KKI | Multi-Op | 2m: IC-9700 / 90W FT8 / 500W SSB-CW / ant 2x GW4CQT in vertical stack 6m: IC-7300 / 25W FT8 / ant 4 el. That was not the case. Despite that, there was enough Sporadic-E to make some QSOs, but all digital, due to the lack of conditions. Thanks all 73 | TC3EC | Multi-Op | TC3EC CONTEST TEAM | UT1IC | Hilltopper | This year I am celebrating 21 years of participation in the CQ WW VHF. I thank John, W1XX, for his personal support in the development of the test in Ukraine. Steve Bolia,N8BJQ thanks to you, the test has strengthened and gained maximum strength for participants from UA | UZ1WW | Checklog | 73! | VE3OOZ/R | Rover | Operated rover from a boat | VE3SMA | Single Op All | Operation from Burlington, Ont. I was also QRV on 144.174 beaming stateside but heard no one. Tnx for the 6M QSO's 73 Frank VO1HP Remote K3 station | W0KI | Hilltopper | First Contact with W7WM, I sent the incorrect Grid Square. I sent DM70, it should have been DM79. 1.7 mile hike to Lat: 39.388639 Lon: -105.097313, approximately 500 feet in elevation gain. Icom IC-705 with a 6m dipole up in the trees and a Microsoft Surface Go 2. All battery powered, beautiful day | W3DHJ/R | Rover | The. Worst. 6M. CONDX. EVER! I kept checking for a pin in my 6M coax! 2M was only a little less grim. Hellacious thunderstorms only added to the joy. DXCC 1 WAS 3 VUCC 4 | W4ETA/R | Rover | Not a bad time. Just wish more folks would pick up the mic instead of only doing FT8 | W5TRL | Single Op 6M | LOTS of deep QSB resulting in 'one and done' sequences.... 75% of QSOs attempted were Incomplete or broken due to missing sequences. Experience in the June VHF contest shows this is where FT4 is superior. Zero stations heard though on FT4 in the July CQ VHF contest though. My .02, FWIW, YMMV. 73 Tim W5TRL | W8RU | Single Op All | Had equipment problems on 2m so only made 4 QSOs there. Lots of activity on 6m to make up for it. Thanks for the QSOs and 73, Ron (W8RU) | WA5LFD | Single Op All | This contest needs a revamp similar to the 'analog only' category adopted by the ARRL VHF contest. There were very few stations on CW/and SSB. In addition, the time overlap with the NAQP RTTY contest was a major distractor for this event. There was a brief E-skip spot opening Saturday afternoon to GA and FL, rest of my contacts were tropo on 2M and locals | WB3IGR | Single Op All | I was busy all week end upgrading the height of my tower and only had the last 3 hours to participate | WB4EHG | Single Op All | Very disappointing that the band rarely opened to south FL and then only for short periods to the north/north west and Texas. The guys in the middle of the country have it lucky | WB8WUA | Single Op All | Unfortunately, there was no skip probigation activity on the 6 Meter band - as usual this year. With the exception of the FT8 mode, that band has become another 'band skipped over'. I enjoyed hearing from Jim again, from 'up-north'. Thanks for this good VHF wave QSO opportunity, and 73 | WG3K | Single Op All | Conditions weren't great for the contest. I seemed to work all my neighboring grids on both bands and only occasionally saw stations from outside my normal area. Sunday morning I was being heard in upper Midwest and even down to the south but never made contact. Hope conditions are better next year | WN1C/R | Checklog | Operated Saturday afternoon EN42, EN43. Will not be back unless there's already evidence of 6m openings for analog operation | YC3AHD | Single Op 2M | CQ WWVHF 2024 IS VERY NICE EVENT....
